THE NEW "STRIPED" CHIMERA WATCHES NOW ALSO IN CHRONO VERSION

Following the world preview at the 2024 edition of Watches & Wonders and the launch of the time-only versions, U-BOAT officially unveils three extraordinary Chimera models in chronograph versions, featuring the now-acclaimed striped dial and available in a limited edition of 300 pieces per colour.

Italo Fontana continues to redefine the perception of time, creating watches that defy conventions and captivate with their unique geometries and three-dimensionality. The new Chimera Chrono models, embodying the essence of bold and distinctive design, are now enhanced with an intriguing two-level dial with a wavy surface, adorned with elegant horizontal stripes in three shades: black, green, and blue.

This striped motif in three colors gives these models a vibrant and hypnotic character. The openings on the upper level reveal the brushed metal base, creating a kaleidoscope of light and reflections that mesmerize the wearer with every wrist movement.

Framed by a polished tungsten bezel, one of the world's hardest materials, these dials stand out with laser-sculpted numerals, indexes, and counters. The lower surface, in smoked sapphire, further emphasizes the depth and visual impact of the stripes.

Protected by an optical sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective treatment, these chronograph versions feature metal-painted and brushed hands, also laser-cut. The date window and three tone-on-tone counters harmonize perfectly with the hues of the dial, with a fourth counter dedicated to 24 hours completing the sophisticated aesthetic.

The 46mm case, faithful to the iconic Chimera design first introduced at Baselworld 2009, is crafted from robust AISI 316L stainless steel. The case back is secured by five external screws, using a custom key, ensuring water resistance up to 100 meters. Openings on the back and side, both in smoked mineral glass, allow a view of the automatic Sellita SW500 movement, meticulously customized by U-BOAT with a brass and tungsten rotor and rhodium-plated bridges decorated with perlage, paying homage to fine watchmaking craftsmanship.

On the left side of the case, next to the famous crown guard with a safety lock, lies the iconic patented button, making crown extraction simple and intuitive, alongside the characteristic chronograph pushers, perfectly integrated into the design.

Produced in a limited edition of just 300 pieces, each model comes with a handcrafted strap, made in Tuscany from naturally aged leather. Waxed cotton stitching, brown for the versions with a green dial and black for the other two, highlights the authentic character and timeless elegance of these extraordinary chronographs.
