The word “GIÒSA” stands for the initials of its founder, Giorgio Santamaria, who today guides his company starting from an experience gained since the 50s inside the small leather workshop opened in Milan by his father Santo. The ability, the passion, the secrets of this traditional art learned and matured since childhood, in 2004 led Giorgio to found a new reality. aimed at both female and male audience, dedicated exclusively to the most noble of all skins: that crocodile (and alligator).

Walking through the alleys of Brera and arriving in via Ciovasso, you can admire from the windows of the GIÒSA MILAN LABORATORY the hands of master craftsmen who with precise movements carve, engrave and sew the crocodile and alligator skins.

Surrounded by ancient tools, the scent of the leather, the projects slowly becoming colored, enriched with details and taking shape. Since each process is totally handmade and each skin is different from the other, each product of the maison is completely unique and not replicable.

Not far away, still in via Ciovasso, is the Flagship Store whose large windows from the outside open to views looking like paintings and crocodile sculptures. Crossing the threshold, you are immersed in the charm of a unique process, with unmistakable shapes and colors, with details immediately capturing the most sensitive refined and demanding eye. In addition to the ground floor, the collections display continues on the lower level where there is also an elegant area where customers can receive all the personalized assistance from the maison. GIÒSA MILANO carries out all types of tailor-made work to the collections dedicated to women, men, accessories and the total look to meet the requests of the most loyal and demanding clientele

Crocodile and alligator

GIÒSA MILANO works exclusively with crocodile and alligator skins.

The first ones mainly come from Africa, New Guinea, Thailand, Australia. The alligator, instead, comes exclusively from the United States. The fundamental difference is that all types of crocodile have a small point inside each scale, more or less evident based on the color of the skin. The alligator, however, is totally without points. The leathers processed by the maison are all certified and come from authorized farms. Why crocodile-alligator skin only? It is a unique and extremely versatile material, leather par excellence. The Milanese maison wants to highlight them through its work, its passion and its creativity, applying them to any type of customer request for an exclusive offer on the Italian and international market.

The creative process, which is meticulously followed by our Art Director Domenico Mula, takes form through the ability and the knowledge of the best Italian artisans who are able to make every element of our design proposal unique and immediately recognisable
